U.S. companies that had never previously considered employing a remote workforce found themselves taking swift action the first few weeks of March 2020: Business continuity depended on setting up virtual workplaces and rapidly deploying a remote workforce. In the long weeks that followed, employees settled into their remote workspaces and organizations realized how much could be accomplished in a virtual environment.
